Just heard a particular clip - right near the beginning they ask the question "Are you saying you only like the trophy?". It just sort of slides by in the conversation but it hit me like a ton of bricks!
If there's more satisfaction and fun in the recognition, acknowledgement and/or appreciation from others FOR what you're doing than in what you're actually doing, then you're on the wrong track. You are aimed at "pleasing others".
It's a tough question. We have to ask that question and be honest with ourselves, when we answer it. Otherwise "pleasing others" becomes even more important to us than getting into alignment!!
You may "intellectually" understand that what they've said isn't true, but you will probably believe that you've been perceived that way. So, what happens? You do NOT want to be perceived that way. So much so that you're going to push against it and try very hard to not appear that way and you're going to see evidence all over the place that you ARE perceived that way. And when you see evidence that you are perceived that way, regardless of what you "intellectually know", you're going to fear it might be true.
No one can tell you about you from outside the vortex. Yes, you might attract a negative, personal remark. But the details of the remark are irrelevant. The details need only match what you're vibrating. They don't have anything to do with you, otherwise. If it feels really, really bad, then you were in a really, really bad state which required some really, really bad words to accurately reflect your vibe. That's all it was. it wasn't about you. It was about somebody having something that matched that particular vibration at that particular moment. In detail, it was bullshit. Period. It cannot be otherwise.

Millions of people are walking around believing the whole world is perceiving them as "defective" and trying to counteract it because they encountered ONE cranky-pants, on ONE day, who had ONE thing stuck in their own craw and passed it along to every vibrationally matched person they could get their hands on because the exact same thing had been done to them. The recipients of tat tirade look at themselves and fear it MIGHT be true even though they know it isn't because they believe they've been perceived that way and so must create evidence that justifies that belief.
Nobody can tell you anything true about you from outside the vortex. No one can see clearly from that vantage point. So, cut it out.
You are light, you are love and you are perfect. You are a God and you are so powerful that everyone you meet must give you EXACTLY what you expect. They are powerless to give you any less than what you expect from them. If someone cannot provide what you expect of those you encounter, then they cannot - CANNOT - enter your experience in that moment. It is LAW.
When you believe you are perceived a certain way but KNOW it isn't true, you often use some other aspect of yourself to explain it as "being misinterpreted". And if it's a "positive" aspect, you can get yourself extremely sideways with a belief that ALL people are "bad" because they perceive something "good" as something "bad". When the entire rationalization of what is happening is totally "made up"! You've made it up to explain that big blob of tangles to yourself. As if it were one thing. But it never happened! Something completely different was going on. It was a very exciting dialogue. One belief and two distinct fears. Three distinct "things" woven together to appear as one. The belief that you are being perceived a certain way, the fear OF being perceived that way AND the fear that it might be true.
And there's a whole other thing about a distinction between "time-spanning" beliefs and fears and "in the moment" emotions. The fear of being perceived a certain way "in the moment" comes quickly because the belief that you ARE perceived that way by others and the fear that you might actually BE that way are "time-spanning", underlying vibes. "Carry-overs" from other moments that have nothing to do with the moment you're in that are sort of always "on". You can just imagine the mental gymnastics involved in keeping this wacky merry-go-round going! We are AWESOME creators!! ROFL!
