Abraham has been talking about momentum a lot recently – and so I have been thinking about it a lot!
I have reached a point of clarity on a few things so it is time for me to write them out and share them.
First of all, the birthing of a desire.
Abraham says that we should live life from inside the vortex. But we feel contrast when we are outside the vortex. Then does this mean that we birth desire from outside the vortex?
So the role of action then is to help us enjoy the fulfilling of the new desire – otherwise the same action would become a pain. My own example: I write my blog posts from inside the vortex, at a time when the material inside me is boiling to come out – I can’t stop it. Soon as I sit down the words start flowing and at times, my typing speed gets in the way! On the other hand, if at some point writing a post were to become a chore, an activity that must be done regardless of the enjoyment of it – Oh! How painful that would be and it would take so much longer, and the end result would be no where near what I would find satisfying. I don’t write very often because I don’t consider it as something I must do daily, but I have friends who do. They feel that they must write a blog post in order to keep their blogs alive. It is a must. I think it’s Ok to have a ritual like that – the only important thing would be to take the time to come into alignment before beginning to write. Do you agree?

As I understand it, a desire can take negative momentum or positive momentum, and some desires don’t carry momentum at all. These are passive desires, things that we think about but don’t necessarily want to have manifest. For example, as a child I had many wonderful hours of day dreaming about living in the jungle just like Tarzan. Did I really want to do this? Not really. Just thinking it was fun – and it was enough.
Then there are desires that we actually want to have manifest – like a new car or a house or a mate. All our lives we collect data on what we want and we keep refining what would please us. I know when I bought my first house, I was estatic – it was perfect for all of 3 months. Then I started wanting a bigger pantry, a two car garage…you get the drift? The universe is listening to all our preferences and knows in more detail what we want than we do at any given time. I have to laugh now when I hear people talk about how they made a list of what their mate must be like, but they left out money, and now he is exactly as per the list and has no money! That’s not because of the list – it’s because you were not a vibrational match to money.
It is when a desire has gathered enough momentum that it is now moving towards manifestation that it flows (because of the momentum) from the vortex to the grid. That is why a grid can be a positive grid or a negative grid.
Once that movement has started from the vortex to the grid, there is powerful focusing on energy going on and that is why Abraham says that our power of thought cannot stop the manifestation once it reaches that point. I think the example Abraham used was to say, that once there are bullets flying through the air, there isn’t much you can do to stop them.
The thing to do is to give the new desire positive momentum, and we do this by milking it. How do we milk it? By appreciation and long lists of positive aspects and focus wheels. The vibration of appreciation keeps the positive momentum going which results in a manifestation that is pleasing. This is the point where you ask your self the question: which thought feels better? And based on the answer, you go general or if you’re really excited about it you go specific. Actually, the focus wheel technique takes you from a general place to a specific place. (Read my earlier post on this subject).
So if in the moment that we realize the birthing of a new desire and we identify it as something that we do want to bring into reality, then it makes sense to focus “positive” thought upon it often – because the more positive thought you focus on it the more energy you give it the faster it must come to pass. That is why trainers and coaches ask their clients to visualize and visualize often. NLP goes a step further and adds colour, sound and texture – this engages the senses and out emotions – that is why it works! The rule is, if you can’t put positive energy or thought into it, it is better not to think it at all.
In conclusion, creating positive momentum is a choice – living consciously is a choice, and becoming conscious is a habit.
