Abraham says that the first place any sort of resistance shows up is in the form of physical discomfort, because you feel emotion in your body.

For example, if you are one who believes that heart disease (or any other condition) is genetic, then that belief represents a potential weak spot in your system. If you harbor resistance often and do not heed the negative emotion that you feel – brush it away as unimportant or shake it off as a sign of weakness or immaturity, then an accumulation of events and situations that add to the blockage can result in a heart attack for you. I have been witness to the journey of someone I know, whose mother died of cancer, and she believed that cancer was hereditary, eventually she was diagnosed with it. Her resistance was on the subject of money, but it showed up as cancer because of her belief system. For another person I know, the cancer came as a result of her habit of criticism with respect to all her relationships.
This train of thought leads me to remembering my mother. My mother transitioned in May 2006 at the age of 60, after a prolonged illness.
From the time that she was diagnosed with dementia to very recently, it had been my quest to find out what went wrong. I am at peace now, because I know what happened at a vibrational level, and because I have (thanks to Abraham) been able to find my mother again.
My mother had been a very unhappy individual most of her life. She always looked for approval and acceptance and never forgot any of the events and people who hurt her. One day I will write about her journey – but for now, all I can tell you is that the subject of emotional well-being and it’s link to physical well-being is one that I have spent a lot of time contemplating – and the only way I have been able to make sense of what I have witnessed my parents and others experience is through the teachings of Abraham.
