I have been on this ‘create your own reality’ path for over twenty years and there are points when I felt like I was crossing the Atlantic in a rowboat. On the days when the ocean appeared to be a roaring tempest, and my little boat was being tossed around like a ragdoll, I would wonder to myself if it was all a cosmic joke. If I had the power to create my own reality; why was I creating this?
It is inevitable that the next question would always be: what am I doing wrong? I must be doing something wrong. Of course when you are in the midst of the darkness, well-wishing family and friends appear to answer this question for you. It is a perfect example of the Law of Reflection and Law of Projection in action. Under the Law of Reflection they are mirroring your inner turmoil back to you. Under the Law of Projection, they are projecting their own fears and shortcomings onto you.
The problem is when you are in the midst of a bad situation; you don’t exactly see it that way. You see them as the dream slayers and fear mongers. In addition, the more you try to explain your situation to them the more frustrated you get and the more your vibrational frequency takes a nosedive.
So what do you do? The first thing is to accept the fact that you aren’t doing anything wrong. Life is just an experience and in everyone life’s there are peaks and valleys. How long you spend in the valley is totally up to you. You can shift your thinking, focus on what is going well in your life and begin the ascent up the mountain or you take up residency in the valley and wallow in self pity. The choice is always yours.
The second thing you can do when you are in a bad situation is recognize there are people in your circle who will uplift you and there are those that will bring you down. There are times when you are in the middle of a rotten situation you just need someone to listen. Keeping things bottled up and putting on a cheery face is not always going to help you. I have learned over the years that even though someone is my friend they may not be the best person to talk to about my situation. For example, I have a very dear friend who when I have a problem goes into parent mode. Instead of feeling good when I walk away I feel worse. Align with those that will uplift.
Finally, although you may feel like throwing in the towel on the philosophy of creating your own reality, once you are on it you can’t go back. The path may take different turns but as Abraham-Hicks states in one of their workshops, “You know too much.”
