Christmas is not just a time for giving

Giving feels amazing, doesn’t it? Whether it’s your time, energy, or love, being generous is like sunshine for the soul. But here’s the thing: giving all the time without allowing yourself to receive is like trying to live by exhaling only. At some point, you run out of air.

When it comes to manifesting, the Law of Attraction reminds us that balance is essential. Life isn’t designed to be a one-way street. Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin, like yin and yang or peanut butter and jelly. They need each other to work. When you over-give and resist receiving, you disrupt that balance, and trust me, the cost can be steep—burnout, resentment, and frustration with everyone who just doesn’t get it!

Here’s the truth: The universe LOVES balance. It thrives on the constant flow of energy—giving and receiving, day and night, ebb and flow. And yes, karma plays a starring role here.

Now, karma isn’t the universe keeping score. It’s more like a boomerang. When you give without making space to receive, you create an energetic debt. You’re not creating “good karma.” You’re telling the universe, “Don’t send me abundance; I’m all set giving!”

To master the Law of Attraction, you need to open your arms wide—ready to give and willing to receive.

Receiving isn’t always passive. You have to be willing to do what it takes to make space for it. This might mean setting boundaries with people who constantly drain your energy. It could mean stopping yourself mid-“Oh, it was nothing” and instead saying, “Thank you. I really appreciate that.”
Ask yourself: What is this over-giving costing me? Because everything has a price. Are you trading your peace of mind, your joy, or even your health for a pattern that’s not serving you?

If you want to manifest abundance, you need to align your intention with action. The Law of Attraction doesn’t work if you’re only exhaling. You have to inhale and allow the goodness to flow back in.

If receiving feels uncomfortable, you’re not alone. Many of us grew up hearing that it’s better to give than to receive. And while giving is wonderful, it’s only half the equation.

Receiving starts with a simple shift in belief: I am worthy of all the good things life has to offer. Write it down. Say it out loud. (Yes, it might feel cheesy at first, but roll with it.) The more you remind yourself of your worthiness, the easier it becomes to let blessings in. Manifesting is all about creating alignment—and that means letting the universe meet you halfway.

Balance is everything. When we want things for free we upset the balance just as much. Sometimes, we have an attitude of "getting paid for coasting," that doesn't work either because there is no balance in that.

Balance in give and take is the reason why, the declaration "I'm willing to do whatever it takes," works. When we make this sort of declaration, we are telling the Universe that we are willing to balance what we are asking for with what we are giving.
