​I loved Dr. Wayne Dyer so much. Many years ago Dr. Wayne Dyer had a massive heart attack. When I heard that he had a massive heart attack I was in shock.

I thought, how can this man who is so learned and so wise, an expert on positive thinking, who I look up to, create a heart attack? He runs 5 miles every morning at 4 am, and is one of the healthiest people I know – how could this happen to him?

Should I really be listening to this teacher who just demonstrated that he must have a lot of negative momentum going on in his life that he could not control and it resulted in this massive heart attack? Can he really teach me anything, if he can’t follow his own teachings?

Hello Unlimited Friends! It's Zehra back again with Q&A about the Law of Attraction and its application to our lives. Today's question comes from Karen in one of my Facebook groups. She asks, "How can I stop being disappointed?"
I love the beauty and simplicity of this question because when we are disappointed, we know that we are not feeling good. We are basically low on the emotional scale, and Karen knows that she doesn't want to stay there, even though she might be there just now. So, how does she get over disappointment?
Understanding Disappointment
Disappointment happens because of attachment to the outcome. When you really, really want something to happen and it doesn't, or you want to be treated in a certain way and you don't get treated that way, you feel disappointed. Disappointment is attachment to the outcome. If you weren't attached to the outcome, you wouldn't be disappointed.

If you didn't establish a direction, you wouldn't be heading towards your destination; you'd be heading anywhere but there. For everything we want, we must establish a direction and then follow the inner voice that tells us how to get there.

Before you choose your thoughts, choose your emotions. Choose the emotion that you want to feel, and then choose a thought that matches that emotion. Most of us don’t do that; we just keep thinking thoughts, and those thoughts are on a trajectory. Whatever thought you were thinking before generates the next one, so you have to make a conscious decision to switch out of that train of thoughts and get onto a different train.

If you decide that you're going to choose your emotion first, then you're not on a train of thought by default. You pick the train.
