“Where Do We Go in Meditation?”

Let’s revisit the big WHY. Why does everyone talk about meditation like it’s magic? Because it kind of is, but not in a mystical way.
Meditation gives us a break from the only thing that ever really holds us back: our thoughts.
If you’re not getting the things you want in life, whether it’s clarity, peace, abundance, or love, it means your thoughts are getting in the way. That’s it. That’s the whole game. Meditation gives us a way to pause that mental chatter. And in that pause, we realign. We reconnect. We breathe.
But, important note: meditation does not replace the deeper work of calibrating your beliefs. Let me repeat that: meditation does not replace belief work. You still need to shift the thoughts that keep creating what you don’t want. Meditation is a temporary respite not a permanent fix for your mental chatter.
Why It Feels So Good (And Sometimes So Hard)When you meditate it feels... delicious. Sometimes I set a 15-minute timer and when it ends, I’m like, “Nope. Not done. Let’s go another round.” It’s that good.
But life wasn’t meant to be lived in meditation. We’re here for the contrast, the messy, colorful, sometimes frustrating experiences that help us grow. That’s where the joy is. But stepping away from contrast, just for a while, helps us notice the contrast better.

It’s like this: if I’m hitting myself with a sledgehammer (ouch!), it feels amazing the moment I stop. Meditation is that moment. You feel the relief, and now you can tell what alignment feels like. Once you know what alignment feels like, you can start choosing it more often - even when you're not meditating.

Meditation as Your Alignment BenchmarkThink of it this way: meditation gives you a 10 out of 10 on the emotional scale without having to think your way there. That’s huge. Because when you come back to real life, you now have a baseline. You can feel when you’ve dipped into a 3 or a 4, and you’ll be able to course-correct so much faster.
And yes, even your body loves it. Heart health, blood pressure, anxiety, mental health, it’s all positively impacted. Because what’s really happening is that you’re quieting your mind just enough to allow Source Energy to flow through your whole body.

“Where Do We Go in Meditation?”

This question tripped me up for years. I wanted to know what it was supposed to feel like so I could be sure I was doing it “right.”

But here’s the catch: if you’re looking for meditation, you won’t find it. Law of Attraction says, “What you focus on expands.” So if you’re focused on the absence of something, you’re creating more absence. The trick is to let it find you.

Meditation isn’t about eliminating thoughts. (Whew!) That can feel terrifying if you are used to fast moving thoughts. Instead, it's about creating a bit of space between your thoughts. That’s all. Like slowing a car down so you can steer it better. You don’t need to stop driving, you just need better control.
Techniques That WorkSome simple ways to slide into meditation:
  • Focus on the sound of your breath
  • Repeat a mantra or affirmation
  • Visualize a burning candle
  • Listen to a guided meditation
The key is to engage your senses, especially sight and hearing, so deeply that you forget about what’s happening in your life. That’s the whole point: to give your busy mind a moment of peace.

Once you’re out of meditation, do your best not to pick up those same old thoughts again. The ones that created the chaos? Leave them in the past. Come out of your meditation gently, carry that alignment with you, and consciously choose new, better-feeling thoughts for as long as you can.
