“I am ready to take control of my thoughts, I believe that it is possible for me to choose my thoughts and with practice, I will be able to choose my thoughts and create my own reality”. When you repeat this thought over and over again, you will feel better, and when you feel better you start gaining control.
You see, feeling better is an “indicator” of what you are doing with your thoughts.
There is more good news. Even if your thoughts seem to be spinning out of control just now, even if there are times when you go off on an autopilot that makes you think thoughts of anger, worry, revenge or despair, you can start from where you are and change things – not all at once, but little by little. One tiny step at a time. All you have to do is this. When you realize that your autopilot has turned on and you are in a negative feeling place, tell yourself “it’s time to get off the autopilot and find something better to think about. I feel better when I think about [flowers, stars…]” and then turn your attention to that and find a few thoughts of appreciation about it. If you can find just three to five thoughts of appreciation about this subject you will start to feel better and then more better feeling thoughts will start coming to you. You might think that these are unimportant thoughts, and how can thinking about flowers possibly change the situation I am in, but just give it a try, because this is the missing link that you are looking for that has the potential of changing your life. In fact, if you could talk about the beauty of the trees and the flowers with appreciation all day, your life would change dramatically in a very short time. I know because, I’ve been there and done that, and I can tell you with certainty that everyone who is happy is happy because they can reach for a better feeling thought.
