This is because you can’t go from feeling anger, to feeling love – it’s too big a jump. But you can go from anger to a soothing thought that makes you feel more control. Simply saying things like “I’ll know better next time, and thinking about this isn’t good for me, what can I focus my attention on?” is good enough. Typically, in this situation I try to find a window to look out of, because, I can always find something in nature that is pleasing to me. After a few minutes I feel better, and because I understand that even a small improvement in the way I feel is a large vibrational shift, I know I am making the right thinking choice.
That’s how simple the creative process really is. It is all about the little choices we make in every moment of every day.
When you get on a train of thought today, ask yourself: “is this train going in the direction of the way I want to feel or away from it”. You see, at the bottom of the day everything we want is because we want to feel good by the having of it. That’s the mistake we invariably make – we think that things will make us happy, and this leads to conditional living because when we say that we can’t be happy until we have the things we are wanting. This actually kills our joy instead of creating it. When we start making a conscious choice to be happy in every moment, then we can extract joy from every day and lead really satisfying lives.
