An angel rode on the back of my car

It was a beautiful September day – the sun was shining.  I came out of the grocery store with two bags of grocery.  I put one bag down on the ground, as I reached into my coat pocket for my car keys – wrong pocket. They must be on the other side.  It seemed easier to put the bag I was carrying on the back of the car instead of on the ground.  Distracted, and still fumbling for the keys I reached out to put the bag on the back of the car and almost dropped it, eggs and all on the ground.  As the enormity of what I saw hit me straight between the eyes I started trembling.

Thank god I found the keys, because I needed to sit down.  Now I had tears streaming down my face, and I knew I was sobbing uncontrollably – it took a while for the shock to wear off so that I could start thinking again.

It was early days after my divorce, and my mother’s transition to non-physical.  I was almost an year into a new business, and still relatively new as an immigrant to Canada.  Things were not going well on any front of my life.  As a left the house in the morning I was looking forward to my appointment in the afternoon with a possible new client.  As I turned into the gas station the prospect called and cancelled – they did not seem interested in setting up another appointment.  I was miserable.  There was nothing I could do so I proceeded to drive 50 km to work taking the highway – traffic was surprisingly smooth flowing and I could easily drive over the speed limit.  I left the office in the afternoon, stopped to visit a client, took the highway going home as usual, stopped to get my grocery, and then I saw it.  On top of the lid of the trunk was my gas cap! I had forgotten it there when I filled the gas in the morning.

It was sitting there as if I had just put it there.  I drove an old, old car, the gas cap was not attached to the gas tank in any way.  I was in the habit of putting it on the back of the car when I filled her up.  That morning I was so upset due to the cancellation that I forgot to put it back on.  It sat there all day, resting against the spoiler, not nudged in in any way, as I drove over many pot holes, drove 50 km stretch on the highway at an average of 120km/hr, turned on many streets going to work and then repeated the process again coming home.  There was absolutely no way that that tiny little gas cap could have stayed free standing on the back of the car for that long as I drove all day.

All laws of physics were defied as far as I was concerned.  I wondered if there really were angels all around us, and if there was one riding on the back of my poor old car that day.  I took it as a signal that told me that nothing was impossible.  Miracles could happen, and that all the things I wanted could come about if I just stood firmly in my faith.

I remind myself of this story often, because it is my personal proof that anything is possible.  The universe is powerful and the Law of Attraction works to perfection. Do you have a story like this?  If you do and would like to share it, I would love to hear from you.

Incredible! What if you "decide" that the other things had to "go" to make room for something better? It sounds as if you're "right there"! A "saved" gas cap may seem small to most, but it seems like an indication that you often, deliberately, raise your vibration. Something so incredible coming right on the heels of such a disappointment? WE define and decide the meaning of what we create. We get to decide whether something is "bad" or "good". There is nothing to keep us from choosing, for ourselves, how we respond to or define our manifestations nor to interfere with the results of our choices. We are free. Always.
