Anger is a fire that burns those who hold it

I've always had a problem with the words "I forgive but I never forget". If you can't forget then you haven't really forgiven have you? Basically, what you're saying is "you did this thing that hurt me once, which means you are capable of doing it again, so I need to protect myself from you". But if you feel that way then by Law of Attraction you are attracting to yourself the very thing you do not want. Because the Law of Attraction is precise and it will always give you want you think about, and not what you intend - unless you think about what you intend.  I learnt that lesson the hard way. It was so hard in fact, that I had to devise a way to forgive as well as to forget.
I know, like me you might also think that "it's not easy as easy as it sounds" and I agree with you. Way back when, one day I asked myself the question "do I really want things I don't want happen to me again and again?" the answer was "of course not!" I want to be happy. And so I had to figure out a way to make peace with the past.  So I devised ways of "getting rid" of the past...but you can't really get rid of it, what you have to do is to do the self-talk to accept the past as something you no longer have control over and remind yourself that the future is still under construction - it is still in the realm of being controllable. Control the controllable. And that is just one of the many things I teach in the workbook "Reaching for Joy" (available Nov 1st).

If you are weighed down by the weight of an unhappy past, you make it harder for yourself to rise to the light hearted place where joy resides. So if you’re holding on to things, it’s time to let them go…
