Giving people advice…

I find it challenging to speak with people who are discussing their problems with me.  For one thing, I covet my own alignment so much, that I really don’t want to listen to their problems.

I am also conscious of the fact, that I don’t want anything I say to reinforce a negative belief in them.  I want all my words to be carefully chosen so that I can up-lift them.

I am learning that pre-paving works really well.  If I know that I will be meeting with someone, I try to pre-pave the meeting by saying to myself.  I want to enjoy the time I will spend together with A.  I like this… and this… and this… about A.  I want to be an up-lifter and I want that all who interact with me feel better for having met me and co-created with me.

I try, and sometimes I forget, but as I do it and it works, I find that I do it more times than not.

You see, I make a career out of giving advice…yes, I am a financial/investment advisor.

When I first started learning about how the law of attraction works, I admit, I was horrified.  The question in my mind was that if I was attracting people with financial problems, did that mean that I was totally out of the vortex?

I took this question with me to the Alaska Cruise 2011, and even though I was not called to the hot seat, I did get the answer I was looking for.  People were finding me not because I was on the same wavelength as them in terms of the problem, but because I was coming as the solution to their problem (asking).  Whew! I breathed a sigh of relief.

So my clients do the asking and I receive the answer and provide it to them! Actually that’s a pretty exciting place to be.  I love it.

That brings me to the next part, and that has to do with power of influence.  For not only do I have to bring the solution to my clients, I also have to make them hear it, and then I have to inspire them to act on it.  I can only do so if I exert power of influence.

The odd time I will meet someone who wants me to look after their financial affairs because they want to connect with my energy and feel that I am the right person for them.  But by and large people come to me when they are out of the vortex, wanting to find a solution that will make them feel better.  To be successful, I have to call them up to the emotional scale from where they are to hope, which then creates the inspiration within them to act on the advice I provide.

I always did this in my talks and seminars and as I sat with people, but now I know how it works.  And now I know that the beginning point of the whole process is for me to first bring myself into alignment so that I can exert poser of influence on my clients from inside the vortex.

More recently, I have also given up creating elaborate plans for acquiring clients.  I now that the law of attraction will match me up with those who are ready for me – all I have to do is to trust.  I don’t need to bang my head around looking for clients – that is trying to fill in the grid – all I have to do is to relax and allow the grid to fill in!  I don’t need to know where they will come from or how they will find me, I just need to trust that the universe will take care of all the details.

If you are an advisor or a sales person of any sort, this applies to you too.  In fact, I think it applies to everyone, because we are all in sales!  Blessings!

I learned a phrase from a spiritual teacher long ago that has held me in good stead when dealing with others who are not at the same place, vibrationally, that I am: "You cannot feed meat to a baby at first; you must first feed them milk."

Basically, this means that they will not understand advanced concepts before they have a basic foundation of knowledge in any given subject. This is the problem I am encountering with my family,. They know I am studying Abraham and the vortex, but they still cling to their concepts of their so-called "reality."

I am careful not to expound too much with them at first, because I know they are liable to write me (and the concepts) off as crazy, or delusional or... whatever.

So, I take a relaxed mental attitude with them (and everyone else I encounter) and throw in little gems of knowledge whenever an opportunity arises. This often results in giving them an "aha" moment.

Much like, Dr. Phil's "How's that workin' for ya?" LOL!

Much appreciation!

Hi CJ,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share. I love that phrase you have shared "feed them milk before meat". It is as true for family as it is for friends and clients. I have the same situation, where my family regards themselves as "religious" and from time to time give me the opportunity to tell them that as they worry, they are displaying a lack of faith in the God they believe in.
I am very happy to have connected with you.
Much love and appreciation.
