Having Difficulty with Positive Thinking? ...Play a Game

PictureClick here to play the game!
My dear friend Mary sent me an email with a link to a game a few days ago – and I only just opened it last night.  I was curious because Mary doesn't often send me games to play – she knows that’s not my thing.  Therefore, if she wanted to share this with me, it must be special.  And it was.

It was special because I had fun, and it was special because it enhanced my understanding of how the law of attraction works in my life and in the lives of those around me.

It is a really simple game.  And it only takes a few seconds to play a round.  Yeah right!  I played for a bit and the next thing I knew it was a 15 minutes later.  It didn’t feel like 15  minutes.  But Oh Well…I noticed that I felt good.  It was just before going to bed and there was nothing pressing that needed my attention.

Playing a game is a wonderful activity, that has the potential of bringing us all the things we want to manifest in life.  It seems frivolous, I know, but if you think about it, it makes perfect sense.

Playing a game gets us focused on the objective of the game.  Guess what? When we focus on the objective of the game, we can’t at the same time focus on something else.

It is important to get let go and get involved in the game in a relaxed manner.  If you’re playing half heartedly, and making the moves while your thoughts are focused on the long list of chores that still needs to be done, this trick will not work.  Because when you play from that platform you are actually building resistance, where as the whole objective of the game is to release resistance so that you can create ease and flow in your life.

Another important aspect of playing is that as you focus on the game, you stop your usual habit of thought.  This is important, because if your usual habit of thought is not serving you well, then it is important to get away from it in order to soothe the resistance or tension build up inside you that is creating resistance towards the accomplishment of your goals.

How do you know if your habit of thought is not serving you well?

If you are mostly living the life you want and enjoy (the key here is mostly), then your natural habit of thought is serving you well most of the time.  If there are areas that you feel need improvement then I would encourage you to decide not to think about them and instead play a game.

Thinking about variables over which you have no control does not help to sort out the situation – it merely adds to the tension and worry and accumulated resistance.
So give it up – go play a game.

You can play a game that requires physical action, such as a sport, but a board game or a computer game is just as good.  I know, many of you parents out there are going to think “what? How can playing a computer game be possibly good?”.  Depending on the circumstance, it can be therapeutic.  If there are things waiting to be done, and you are busy playing a game, then you are accumulating resistance while playing.  If (as in the case of most children), the people in your life are telling you that you are wasting time, and wasting your muscles while you sit and play, and you accept these statements as being true, then again you are accumulating resistance rather than being in a state of allowing.

On the other hand, if you have set aside time to play and are focused on the game to the exclusion of all else – doesn’t that sound a lot like the kind of focus you need for meditation?  Yes, you assume correctly, I am saying precisely that: “playing games is meditative and therapeutic”.  Try it!

Blessings!

How true Zehra. I also find reading a good way to re focus my mind too when too much is racing around there. Something light and uplifting gives me a new focus makes me feel good.

Hi Nicole,
Anything that gets your mind off the way things are (if you don't like the way things are), is good.
Much Appreciation.

I loved the game and it took me awhile to figure out how to keep it going for 18 seconds -- I think that was my high score! Thanks! :)

I think that 18 is the highest possible score on the game - fantastic! You really got focused - now you know what it feels like to have a singular focus - to be so zoned in, so you can take it with you as a bench mark for when you want to reach that feeling place again - use NLP to anchor that feeling. There is a section on anchoring in my Prosperity Puzzle book and there are scores of references on the technique available on the internet. Appreciation. Zehra

I got to 15 seconds and then had a sudden urge to throw something. I will try again - that can't be the desired effect! :)

Hi Jack, the desired effect is to get you zoned in on the game to the exclusion of all else - I think you got the desired effect else you wouldn't have made it to 15 seconds! So well done! Playing a game is a great alternative to meditation.
