I wish my neighbour's dog would die

This blog post was written in response to a question asked by Heather this morning.  I would like to thank Heather for inspiring this response.

Her question was:

Hi there, I have been enjoying your videos you post on YouTube on the teachings of Abraham. I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with. So, when you ask it is always given. What if people are asking for something bad, for example the neighbour's dog to die because of it's barking, or someone is asking for someone else's mate? Does source answer those type of request or only positive request? I was watching a YouTube video where Abraham was describing how there is non-physical energy which is Source and non-physical energy which is the spin-off of man's consciousness and Source's consciousness. I think it was your video and I can't find it now! :( So does source answer only positive things and then when negative things happen is that coming from the non-physical energy from man's consciousness? I hope it's not too confusing of a question. If you could shed some insight that would be fabulous.


Hello Heather,

Thank you for your question.  There are really two questions here and the second one is a really big question.  Let’s take the one about the dog first, and then I will talk about thought forms.

You cannot create in someone else’s reality.  You can only create in your own.  So when you wish that the neighbor’s dog would die because it barks so much, all you will get is more barking!  You will get more barking because that is where your focus is, even though you are asking for the barking to stop.  When you ask for someone or an animal to die, you are trying to create in their reality and that is not possible.  The only thing that will happen is that the dog will feel your resentment towards it and will push back giving you more of what you do not want.  Source does not judge your desires as being good or bad.  Source merely wants you to have what you want.  What you want is not necessarily the death of the dog; you just want peace and quiet.  Whereas you might think that the death of the dog is the only way to get what you want only Source knows all the possible solutions that can take place.

Let’s say for argument’s sake that you actually threw a poisoned treat over the fence hoping that the dog would eat it and die – now you are “try to fill in your grid with action” before achieving alignment.  Alignment is in appreciating where you are and being eager for more.  So the end result of that action cannot give you what you want in terms of the manifestation you want as well as a good feeling about the way it came about.  If the dog did die because of your poisoned treat, you might get caught, you might feel gratification for a little while and then be haunted by your action so that if you ever hear another dog barking it will take you right back to the vibration of this event and it will become a very dismal place very quickly.  
Instead, you will get far better results from “allowing your grid to fill in” by soothing yourself and doing things that will take you up the emotional scale.

Let’s get to the bottom of this. The real thing that you are asking for is peace and quiet – am I right?

Well then, why not ask for just that?

You would do that by saying things like:

“I love it when it is quiet.  I can hear the birds sing when it is quiet.  It feels more peaceful when it is quiet….(and go on about all the things you like about being in a quiet environment – what does it do for you in other words – with no mention of the dog).”

So now you are asking with purity of purpose and your vibration is clear and going in one direction.  The Universe will respond by giving you more peace and quiet.  You will find your self at home at times when it is quiet, or your neighbors will move, or something will happen to give you what you want.  This is an example of going general about a specific situation, because if you try to tackle the specific situation, you cannot succeed as your vibration is too far away on that subject.

The other thing to do is to make peace with the dog by using your power of influence.  

Even though you cannot create things or events in other’s experience  you can exert your power of influence to call them to their own alignment or into their own vortex.  You do this by soothing yourself first, and then introducing the specific situation and improving your own vibration on the specific subject.  This is the three step process for doing focus wheels that I teach in the book the Prosperity Puzzle.

You do this as follows:

Step One: State it the way it is

I can’t stand the barking of my neighbor’s dog.

Step Two: Find something about this situation that you can appreciate and that is completely 100% true.

I know that he is a good dog, and he is only trying to do his best. (restrain yourself from using the “but” word)

Step Three: Find something about the situation to appreciate in a way that is soothing or looking at the solution. 

I am sure that there must be something bothering this animal and when he is soothed his behavior will improve.  I choose to send him loving energy to help him feel better, and I know that he will receive this energy at the vibrational level and it will sooth him.

This is exactly what a focus wheel is, it starts with one positive thought and then another and another and another and before you know it you have twelve statements written down that are all pointing to the solution, you feel better and your life shows you the improvement.  The objective is to stay in the positive vibration for at least 68 seconds, if you can manage 15 minutes, you will begin to see an immediate discernible improvement.  The key is to do the work without immediately looking for the improvement – just trust the process and know that if you do the work the improvement will come.

Does Source only give you good things or can you want bad things?  Good question.

Source does not differentiate between good or bad – all Source wants is for you to be happy.  When you do things that you might regret later, or that you don’t feel completely happy about, you start accumulating resistance, and this resistance clogs your pipes and keeps you from living the life that you want.  You are in control.  You must do things that you know will make you happy.

Now the second part of your question about thought forms – at least that is how I interpret it.  That is a very big sphere of discussion.  I will try to summarize it and make it simplistic.

The basic idea behind thought forms is that when you think a thought, that thought has energy, because soon as you think of a preference about things you want or places you want to be Source creates a vibrational version of it.  This vibrational version exists, it consists of energy.  Thoughts of similar nature band together to form what Abraham refers to as streams or rivers of thought.

Let use an example to explain.  Are you familiar with the TV show Star Trek?  This series was truly leading edge because the authors imagination created so many gadgets that captured the attention of people all around the world for many years. At the time when these gadgets were imagined there was no evidence that they would ever become real.  But because so many focused there, and had no resistance to the hard knock on wood manifestation of these gadgets, we now have many of them in our everyday use, the most common one being the cell phone.  Abraham says that first there is thought, then there is thought form, then there are rivers of thought, and then thought manifests in the form of something you can observe with your physical senses.

People who see ghosts are merely taping into the thought forms that people have left behind.  When you are sensitive to reading energy you can tap into any stream of thought and interpret it either through auditory or visual senses or both or any other of the five senses.

That is why our thoughts bring us together – they have magnetic power.  People who are on a higher disc or are higher on the emotional scale will attract toward themselves other people who are on an equally high flying disc and so on.

Does that make sense at all?

Brilliant! One of the best responses I've ever heard, other than from Abraham. I love your phrase: "Are you trying to fill in your Grid with action, before alignment". That says it all. That pretty much sums up what Abraham is saying over and over in all the seminars.

It realy works!
I had a neighbour who wasnt the nicest to have....I did not judge (first i did!) and since the time i let him be who he was and felt good about it (my family didn't) he moved away. You can call it coincedence but I know better.
