Law of Attraction, the Goose and the Golden egg?

Sometimes in life we come across something that we want really badly.  It seems to us that this one thing would be life changing, and that there is nothing even slightly comparable to it in the whole universe.  You know…like the way you felt about an intimate relationship that came to an end without your wanting to, or the job that you interviewed for that seemed perfect but you didn’t get.  Or the house that you hang on to even though debt is piling up, but you don’t want to let go because you think you will never be able to own that sort of home again?
When we feel that way about something we are attached to the outcome.  Being attached to the outcome is being conditional – it means, I am going to hold myself away from being happy until this thing that I want comes about.  So being conditional is what keeps us from being happy.  And being happy is the secret to manifesting all our desires.  Therefore, attachment to the outcome slows things down, it keeps things from happening.

The shortcut to everything we want is to work our way up the emotional scale and practice staying there for longer periods of time.

As I was coaching someone a few nights ago, I was inspired to use the analogy of the goose that lays the golden egg.  What has more value – the goose or one of the golden eggs it’s laid?  Of course, it’s the goose.  When you have the goose you have an unlimited supply of golden eggs.

Law of Attraction is the goose and those things we get attached to are just examples of eggs that the goose can lay for us.  So is it really worth it to get attached to one or two of the eggs? Is it worth it to keep wanting the old relationship to be rekindled or is it better to get happy and allow the Universe to bring us that or something better?  The problem is we get hung up on the idea that nothing better exists, but that is because we can’t see the forest for the trees.  We have very limited vision because we can only see those thing that have already manifested in physical form, whereas there are many things that are in the vortex waiting to take physical form.  So let do the feeling of lost opportunity from the interview that did not result in a job, or the affection that didn’t lead to marriage, or the house or car, or countless other things that you thing are unparalleled and just focus on being happy and satisfied where you are.

Give your attention to getting happy, and learning to understand and use the Law of Attraction.

What is of real significance is to nurture the goose, to look after it, to adore it, to understand it, live each day in the joy of knowing that you have the goose that will yield to you whatever you want.

I love this simple analogy and have started using it as a simple reminder, to focus on what’s important – I hope you will find it useful too.
Blessings!

Much appreciation is here and still I seem to fail; giving and very little receiving. At 68 I am not alone in this even among very aware friends.

A timely reminder for me, thank you. I'm slowly managing to get used to the idea that I might have to let go....
