Lots been happening… Wow! What an awesome couple of weeks since I last wrote to you. So many wonderful and some thought provoking things have happened. Today I want to share little snippets of things that have happened that have made me realize how the law of attraction is silently working in our lives. My son’s viral infection: My ten year old has been raised to use his own guidance and sometimes he says things that shine a light on the short comings in my thinking. He picked up a cold because of my power of influence, whence I couldn’t keep myself from thinking that it was too cold for him to go to school with wet hair straight out of a shower. Of course, it did not have to be so – but that was the belief system I was brought up with and it is still active within me. The unfortunate thing about the whole thing is that I might have communicated my belief at some point in time. Fortunately, my son flies on a higher plane than myself – he truly believes that nothing negative can impact him. So I learnt that I really should leave him alone. The doctor called it a viral infection and after three days at home, I thought he looked better, so I suggested that he should consider going back to school. He looked at me very seriously and said “are you going to tell me how I feel mom? Or can I tell you that I don’t think I can go back to school yet?” He made me stop and think – of course he was right, and how wonderful that he knew it and how wonderful that he spoke it! He knows how the law of attraction works and as we were driving to Toy r Us together he said “mom, I want to tell you what happened at school one day when I was at the Whitby Montessori (Kindergarten years). We were having birthday cake and I wanted a really big piece, but the teacher gave me a really small piece. I was going to sit down but someone bumped into me from behind and my plate fell. There was no more cake, so the teacher had to give me her piece – and her piece was the biggest one”. Of course what could I say except “that’s exactly how the law of attraction works!” Her feet take her: My beautiful daughter has been experimenting with the teachings of Abraham. After I shared the story of how I located my mother’s grave with her, she started using her sixth sense to guide her. For example, when we go grocery shopping, and I send her off to pick up something advertized in the flyer she simply tells her feet what she is looking for and they take her straight to it. The other day, she took her younger brother to a concert in Toronto. The two of them had a long walk from the subway to the concert. They got lost because the annual CNE exhibition was taking place that weekend in Toronto and they did not know how to navigate around it. She put it out there and then she set out just following her gut. In the time that it took me to Google the map of the CNE so that I could guide them over the cell phone, she had already found her way. It makes me happy to see her do so well. When we went grocery shopping this weekend, I asked her to help me find a good chunk of beef and as we were looking one of the packages she picked up leaked and she had blood all over her hands – as I started looking for tissue paper in my hand bag, she said, “I wish there was some kitchen towel handy”, and when I lifted my head from searching my hand bag, I saw her grab a roll of kitchen towel and tear off a sheet! “where did you find that?” I said “Oh, I just saw it lying there in the corner – isn’t that how it works mom?” she said with a big grin on her face. That is exactly how it works I thought. Over the space of a year my daughter has really got good at this – you remember how she got her Japanese text books changed? Well, then she wished that she would have a week to prepare before each final exam – and guess what she got? She tells me that the train/subway doors always open exactly where she is standing on the platform waiting. When the term started this year she wished that there would be more trains and buses to accommodate her schedule. The first day of classes, she was at the bus stop waiting for a bus that would take her to the subway, and then she would take a connecting train a total of a two hour commute home in the evening after classes – a bus stopped right in front of her that she had never seen before – it wasn’t the regular city bus. She asked the bus driver where he was going (and of course he was very nice to her – everyone always is), he told her that this was an express bus that would take her straight to Oshawa in one hour! He also told her that this bus service had just started in September – how awesome is that? It’s wonderful to be witness to all of this – really when you see it work on the little things you realize that if it can work for these it can work for all the bigger things too. I remember Abraham say once and I summarize here: if Source regards even your smallest wish as important enough to act on immediately and bring you what you want, can you imagine how much source wants you to have all the bigger things that you desire in life? Source never holds back. We just have to learn to trust that as we ask, it is always given and we just have to allow it in. My Father: For the past couple of weeks I have been asking to develop the ability to practice unconditional love. Of course the Universe wanted to present me with the opportunity to exercise unconditional love, so I walked in from the garage one day last week and as I was hanging up my coat and getting out of my shoes, I could hear my father in animated conversation with my sister-in-law. I stopped – frozen in my shoes. He was narrating a long list of complaints about me. It’s interesting that I was not shocked – I was angry, and the thought passed my mind that he had no right to act this way. Then all of Abraham’s teachings came rushing into my head. I wasn’t going to let him pull me off my higher disc. What he thought was none of my business – it was not my job to change my behavior in order to please him, there is no reason for me to counter his accusations etc. Then I smiled – I remembered that I had been asking the Universe to help me practice unconditional love – and here was my opportunity to do exactly that – the Universe had given me what I wanted! I went quietly upstairs; I didn’t want to hear any more than I already had – I knew that my sister-in-law had heard me come in, but my father had not since he is hard of hearing. I took my journal and sat down to write so I could soothe myself. It took a bit of work, but once my heart rate returned to normal, I address my father’s Inner-being. I know that his Inner-being loves me no matter what. I know that I love him. I know that we both really want the same thing. We both want a better relationship. I know that he wouldn’t be saying any of the things he said unless he loved me. I want to practice unconditional love. When I saw my sister-in-law later in the day, she was feeling uncomfortable and wanted to bring up the topic – I knew what I had to do – I turned the other cheek. I told her that I did not want to talk about it – it was better to forgive and forget. It felt good to do this. That's it for now - I have another story to tell, it is about a family that I have been observing up close, who seem to be attracting the strangest events to them on one specific subject - it will be my topic for next time. Until then...have fun. Zehra

Thank you for this, Zehra -- I appreciate you sharing the life lessons. They're obviously not just for you -- I think a lot of us (ok, I'll speak for myself!) can certainly 'relate' and learn from them, as well.

Thanks for sharing your stories! THey inspire and encourage : ) I'm thinking it all comes down to two things - people either believe the world is run based on attraction or assertion (or some where in between) and this one thing colors our entire outlook. It makes all the difference.

Wow! Isn't it amazing, the things kids will come up with upon hearing how things work?!? Things we would never think of...awesome! I'm going to start "telling my feet" where I want to go and simply trust that they'll take me there!! No more Google maps!! THIS ought to be fun!!
