It was because I was brought up to think that girls should not be in the sales profession.
I was brought up with the rule “don’t talk to strangers” (and so the tussle, because sales is all about talking to strangers)
Anyone, know what I'm talking about?
When I realized that I had strong beliefs that were holding me back from being successful in a sales career, I decided that my goal was bigger than my fear.
As so began the slow, and might I add…very painful journey of letting go all those layers upon layers of beliefs that were holding me back from the success I wanted.
You see, we have a tendency to ascribe reasons for our lack of success to things outside of us. We tend to think that we are just not lucky like other people, or not as well connected, or not as presentable…the list goes on and on.
What about you?
Has there ever been a time in your life when you felt you had no control over achieving your goals?
Have you considered the possibility that it might just be you and your thoughts about you that are holding you back from achieving your goals?
I can assure you that facing up to yourself is a painful process. Yes, that’s right.
It is sure to bring out all the monsters that were hiding under your bed or in your closet. Slaying the dragons that you created in your own imagination that now seem real is not easy, but it can be done. You can do it.
That’s what the Law of Attraction is all about. It’s about self-examination, self-discovery and self-adjustment. Becoming aware of what needs changing and changing it.
I am blessed to be on this journey of growth. Come a long way, and excited about moving forward – travelling light as I go.
