But today, I could feel the “happy” warm feeling in the pit of my stomach. It’s just an ordinary day, but I feel good. I looked at myself in the mirror and said – “it’s going to be a fantastic day today”.
When my daughter and I left home this morning, she was a bit down on the emotional scale, we were just a few minutes late leaving. She pointed it out and focused on it. I didn’t. I knew we had plenty of time to make it for her train. So here is how we co-created.
As we came out of our neighbourhood, it seemed like there was a never ending stream of cars and I wouldn’t be able to make the left turn to join the stream. She noted it, but I saw a gap and made it into the flow.
We found a series of amber lights next and finally a couple of reds, and she focused there again, and I said “don’t worry, you won’t miss your train”. Then of course, we encountered a couple of road hogs, and even a truck driver in training who was having a difficult time making a right turn! My daughter laughed and said “everything is conspiring against me” and I said – “it’s Ok, we’re doing fine”. Then she took out her train schedule and said “there’s another train 15 minutes later, if I take that one I’ll still be in time for class, just won’t have time to stop for a coffee” – and with that she finally relaxed, and we got to the train exactly four minutes ahead of time! Wonderful! As I said good bye to her I said “it’s going to be a wonderful day” and she said “yes it is”. I was early, so as I drove away I wondered if I should stop at the Walmart and get some grocery done – but it didn’t feel right, so I drove on. As I turned towards my office, I had the sudden urge to go to the grocery store at that corner – I never go there, because it is more expensive, but I followed my whim and went. Guess what? Everything on my grocery list was on sale – even the sugar! Amazing? Or just law of attraction doing its thing? Of course I headed into work and found the perfect parking and my day is continuing to unfold beautifully. My daughter just called. She made it in time for everything she had planned and two other things that were in the pipeline for her actually came through for her – so she is having a fantastic day. She usually does. I learn the most about the law of attraction from my children. She is the only person I know who walks on to the platform just as the train is pulling in – never has to wait. She is the only person I know for whom the train doors open at the exact spot where she is standing. And she is the only person I know who appreciates this every time it happens – so it keeps happening. Did you read about the time she actually managed to get the assigned text book for her course changed just by wishing it?
As I sat down to work today, top of my mind was a question that a client had asked me yesterday about a specific investment in his portfolio. I was wondering where I might look to find the information he needed. A cursory search through the firm’s website and Google yielded nothing. Then the phone rang. It was a mutual fund wholesaler. He was calling to tell me that he had heard from a number of advisors that clients were asking questions about this investment (the same one I needed info on!), he was wondering if I had any clients in the same boat? And here was the information he thought might be helpful – and guess what? It was exactly what I was looking for – his phone call saved me a ton of time and effort. How wonderful is that. Truly when you expect to have a fantastic day, it is – you make your day, and if you just relax and don’t take things so seriously everything falls into place.
Just now a friend of mine called to say that she had talked to someone who was complaining that he had not heard of anyone say how their lives had actually improved because of the law of attraction – he said he was doubting the teachings because there were no stories of how people had improved their lives using Abraham’s teachings or just practicing the law of allowing. So I thought I would share with you just the story of the past three hours of my life to demonstrate that the law of attraction does work. I believe that I have shared some stories earlier on my blog, but I think it really is a good idea to share those little stories that can help other people understand how it works. I actually have a lot to share with you about how my life has changed so stay tuned it will take many post before I’m done. I would like to invite any and all of you to please share your stories by commenting here – if you don’t wish to identify yourselves, send me an email and I will post your story for you using a disguised identity. Much love and appreciation, Zehra
