There is a right way and a wrong way to do vision boards

Vision boards are one of the most misunderstood Law of Attraction tools out there. And it doesn’t help that there are so many people presenting different ways of using this really important tool.

The first thing I want to tell you about vision boards is that if you’re using a vision board to “make something happen”, you’re actually shooting yourself in the foot. Because when you do anything, take any action at all, which is meant to “make something happen”, you’re actually focused on the absence of what you want. And when you focus on the absence of what you want you make absence bigger. And because you make absence bigger you push that thing further away.
So, never do a vision board because you want to create anything specific. The reason for engaging in making vision boards is to have fun doing the activity. Just like an artist has fun painting, have fun creating your vision board, just because it’s fun to do, not because you want something to happen as a result of doing it. Just do a vision board because it’s fun to imagine possibilities, because you want to put out there “yes, I like this. Isn’t this a beautiful place?” without saying “this is a beautiful place and I’d like to go there”. Because if you leave it general, then you’re actually allowing the universe to act on your behalf regardless of where you are on the emotional scale.

You put way more pressure on yourself when you say something like one of my friends said today: “I have created a vision board about my manifestation. I’m wondering if I should only look at it in high vibration.” And I want to tell this beautiful person, first of all, if you made a vision board in order to specifically manifest something then you got it all wrong. Because that’s not the purpose. The purpose is just to engage in a fun activity which takes you up the emotional scale. And because you’re high up on the emotional scale you open up all possibilities.

So my answer to my friend was, put it away. There’s no need to look at it again. If you create a vision board because you want to get something, then the more you look at it, the further you push that thing away. Because every time you look at the vision board you actually pull your vibration apart. First, you recognize the fact that you don’t have what you want. Then you actually force yourself or manipulate yourself into feeling the feeling of having it. So now you’ve activated both ends of the stick. You’ve activated the lack of it and you’ve activated the having of it and it’s going to pull you apart. It’s not going to bring those things closer to you.

The best vision boards and the ones that get talked about (and I know you’ve heard about them) are the vision boards that you create and then you forget about them, like the one John Assaraf talked about in the Secret movie. Because when you create and forget about it, there is no attachment to the outcome. Because the purpose of the vision board was not to create a manifestation, but to have fun in the creation of the vision board.
It’s the same thing that we do when we daydream. When you daydream, you create scenarios of yourself doing things that you’re not really going to set out and do because that’s not what you want to manifest. But it’s just fun to do. That’s what a vision board is supposed to be for. It’s supposed to be for the fun of the imagination. Because the fun that you have with your imagination is a tool for raising your vibration.

So it’s actually the other way around when you say “I’m wondering if I should look at this in high vibration”. No! First of all, you don’t need to look at it at all. Especially if it’s something that you want to manifest, put it away. Secondly, the purpose of creating a vision board is to take you up on the emotional scale. It’s a roundabout or the opposite if you have to raise your vibration first in order to look at it. It defeats the purpose of doing a vision board.

So, I guess I’m getting really excited about it. Maybe it’s time for me to stop. But if you are creating a vision board remember that when you put something on a vision board do not get attached to that outcome. It’s not your job. Because it’s supposed to just be fun! It’s like me taking tubes of paint and just throwing paint on a canvas because it’s so much fun to throw paint on a canvas and just squiggle all over it. I’m not doing it because I want to create a masterpiece. I’m doing it because I’m relaxing, having fun, playing with the paint. When you go to the beach and create a sand castle, you don’t create the sand castle because you want it to be there for ever more. It’s fun to create it and then it’s fun to knock it down!

So just be easy about it. Visualization and vision boards are supposed to be tools to help us go up the emotional scale. They aren’t tools for making anything specific happen. Yes, specific things from your vision board will happen, and they will happen because you stopped looking at them; because you weren’t attached to the outcome. That’s why a vision board will create the manifestations that you put on it; not because you’re looking at it in a high vibration. I think this is a really important message, and I want you to get it!

Much love and appreciation,
Zehra

Hello Zmahoon,
I have a question. Is the statement "Just in Case" high or low on the vibrational scale ? I feel good with hope when it pops in my head , but I find what I want just doesn't happen. Interesting. Please advise / explain.
