What does it mean to be an “Allower”?

Lately it has meant “one who bites their tongue”!

As Abraham’s teachings are becoming assimilated into my daily behavior I notice that my interaction with other people has changed considerably.

I am learning to be an allower of others, as well as myself.

Most of the time I remember to set my intention for my interaction with others prior to the interaction.  Abraham calls this segment intending or pre-paving.  It does not take long to pre-pave.  It is often just one or two sentences uttered in my head  - mostly very general.

For example, when I interact with my clients, I say “thank you for trusting me with your financial affairs.  I want to contribute to your financial well-being in the same manner that you have contributed to mine.  I want to bring you the solutions you seek from interacting with me.  I want to do my best to serve you today and send you loving energy.  I look forward to an enjoyable meeting with you”.

There are times when I forget to do this before hand.  When that happens I take a moment to bring that intention into focus quickly.  I find that just wishing for a productive and up-lifting interaction is sufficient.  It makes me feel good to have put the intention forth.

After people leave my office, I send them blessings and loving energy and thank them for doing business with me.
At home with my children, I set forth a deliberate intention to be a loving mother.  When I see my children, I try to consciously feel the feeling of love that warms the pit of my stomach.  If I can’t feel it (and that happens a lot), it’s Ok because I know I have been busy with lots on my mind, and I know all I have to do is to reconnect with that feeling in order to have a wonderful interaction with my children.  I have found ways to reconnect with that loving feeling with respect to them.  For each of them I have made a metal note of the way they looked when they did something that I found particularly adorable.  Would you be surprised if I told you that these instances are mostly from when they were two or three or four?  I bring that beautiful image of them into focus in my mind, and then I hold them and let that loving energy flow to them.  Of one thing I am absolutely certain: my children know that they are loved beyond measure.  Like all mothers, I have always loved my children, but I think that there is something special about the magic we share now.  There is a feeling of harmony and joy in my house. It doesn’t bother me at all when they make a mess etc., because I know that it is all a part of contrast and co-creating.  I know that things become a big deal only when I give them my focus and energy, and I have decidedly become one who chooses what to energize – well mostly anyway!

With my friends – I have changed considerably.  I used to be the “Advisor”.  One that you could come and confide in; one who would sympathize with your feelings and give you advice.  I don’t offer advice anymore.  I know that whatever I say will influence what the other person is thinking and perhaps cloud the voice of their inner being who is trying to communicate with them.  When someone asks me “what do you think?” (about something that has to do with them), my usual advice is, “more important than what I think is the way you feel – I know your gut feel is telling you something – what do you think it is?”
Sometimes, the response is clear, they have heard their gut feel but they want that feeling of support that they have been trained to ask for.  It’s easy then to guide them back to their gut feel by saying things like “you know I always listen to my gut feel, and I suggest you trust your inner voice – deep down you know what to do so just relax and listen to your sixth sense”. Most people totally believe that they have a sixth sense which is there to guide them – the concept of an inner being, not so much!

I do not agree or disagree with a decision that they might have made.  Why confuse things for them?

When I first started on the path that is paved with the understanding and study of the law of attraction, I used to want to tell everyone about it and convince them of it’s existence.  I wanted to guide them – to help them – to save them.  I understand now that the only person I need to do all of that for is Me.  It is not my job to convince anyone of anything.

However, there are times when people come to me with a question, and an answer comes to my lips without my consciously thinking of it, and it is already expressed before I can think about it.  These are times when I know that the Universe has chosen me as the conduit through which these people will find what they have been asking for.  This blog is just one of those things.  People come to my blog, three to four hundred of them based on present stats come every day – it surprises me really because I am not a techy person – and don’t really know anything about the whole internet marketing arena, so I haven’t done much in terms of making an effort to bring people to my blog – yet they show up!  How do they find me?  That can only be because they are led here by the universe at the perfect time for them to receive that piece of information that they were looking for.  Sometimes they write to me with specific questions; why would they do that, I wonder? And I feel that they are drawn to ask the question because the universe has lined them up for the answer, and that answer is being drawn through me. The law of attraction is wonderful isn’t it?

I believe that I am inspired to write when an answer is being drawn from me, and it is so much fun to write from inside the vortex.  It just flows beautifully – at least that is how I feel.  When I finish typing I feel so satisfied – that is how I am feeling just now.  Very satisfied.  Perfect time to turn the lights out and go to bed.

Thank you for your comment. I have to admit that I am not always in the vortex - I have many Step one moments everyday. However, I am learning to recognise these and appreciate them, and yes, I am generally in a very joyful place. Blessings. Zehra
