Why is it that I start things, but rarely finish?

Sue: Here's a question.....I seem to be excellent at starting things, always curious about something New especially if it's having to do with creation. Is there way I could SIMPLIFY the 40 day system to better help me to stick with it the entire time! It would be lovey to actually make it through.
Sue asked a powerful question on the Unlimited: Law of Attraction Coaching and Support Group on Facebook.  With her permission I am sharing it here with some additions for clarity and some deletions for privacy :

Sue: Here's a question.....I seem to be excellent at starting things, always curious about something New especially if it's having to do with creation. Is there way I could SIMPLIFY the 40 day system to better help me to stick with it the entire time! It would be lovey to actually make it through.

My response: Hi Sue, when I started my journey with Abraham, I was like that too, I would meditate for a few days then stop for a few days.  I would pre-pave for a few days and then forget about doing it.  I understood the law of attraction and I thought that understanding was all I needed to improve things, but nothing in my life was changing and I was not in a good place.  I really needed for things to improve.

Then my self-talk shifted as I asked myself the question "how important is it to improve my life?" the answer was "more important than anything" then the question was "what are you willing to do?" the answer was "I will do whatever needs to be done. I will go where I am led to go, talk to those I am guided to speak with and as I do what needs to be done today, I will work on shifting my vibration so that tomorrow is better". "How will you remind yourself to do the vibrational work?" came the question. And then the answer came too "I will use yellow stickies everywhere to remind me that I need to appreciate - I will write the word appreciate and it will serve as my trigger - I will put it on my bedside table, on my bathroom mirror, on the dashboard in my car, above the stove in the kitchen, on my toaster, and I will get smiley stickers and use them as my triggers - they will serve as my reminder to smile more and take life easy, and be nice to others and myself, and I will meditate and visualize that I am celebrating because everything that I wanted has happened and I know that as long as I do the work, things will work out for me, things are always working out for me." So you see that was how the 40 day workout was born, it consists of the things I started doing on a regular basis and then one day I woke up with the realization that everything had changed for the better, and I had done it - I know this stuff works, it has to be important enough for you to do the work - no one can give you that - that has to come from you. That's why they say, you can take a horse to water but you cannot make it drink - if the horse was thirsty enough it would drink - you cannot tell anyone to be thirsty.

A lot of times people settle for less than what they truly want - and that happens for three main reasons: 1) they can see the possibility for change and improvement because they don't believe that it is possible, or 2) they are so used to their usual place on the emotional scale that they have forgotten how it feels to be truly happy and satisfied, and lastly, 3) they have accepted "reality" and given up on dreaming - they think that dreams don't come true or why raise hopes just to have them dashed again and again, and again.

Lastly, my dear Sue, you have to stop saying that you are excellent at starting things.... because that is the opposite of what you want. How can you say it better?

Here's something really important that I will leave you with - it's not as important to do all the exercises as it is to do some of the exercises. Remember the concept of the tap on the back once you get the swing going? A tap on the back is all it needs to keep the swing going – it’s easy.  When you start positive momentum, you gotta keep it going. You got to keep putting another log and another log and another log on the fire, else the fire will die out and you will be left out in the cold. Vibrational work is continuous, it has to become your lifestyle it's not something you do for a few days and then you stop. It's not a medicine for fixing something, it's like water or air or food - we need it everyday forever.

When it becomes your habit then it no longer requires any effort

You see when we live lives that are less than what we want, that means that there is negative momentum going on - you can't stop negative momentum by giving attention to it. Attention to it just makes it worse - makes it bigger. What you have to do is to get positive momentum started. Imagine two cars racing each other - one represents negative momentum, the other one represents positive momentum. The more fuel you put in the car the more it accelerates and goes faster. If you want the positive one to win the race then you have to do two things, stop putting fuel in the negative car, and start fuelling the positive car.  Pretty soon the positive car will be the only car on your path.

It doesn't take long, it doesn't take long, it doesn't take long, try it for just 40 days.

Hi An,
Jealously is a negative emotion. It does not serve you. Instead, tell yourself that if others can do it you can do it too. All it takes is deliberate focus, consistency in doing the work and belief that if you do the work then the rest is taken care of.

Discipline and structure have proved invaluable in making
change. Diligence has been my Achilles heel.

Why is it so much work , concentration to attract what I want, yet it so easy, no work to attack what I don't want

Linda, when you first get a swing going with someone in the seat - it takes effort, but once the swing is going it only takes a pat on the back to keep the momentum going - it's the same with vibrational work. You have to make the effort in the beginning to get positive momentum going, and once you have that momentum it get's really easy to keep it going. A lot of times people are not consistent in their effort so they loose momentum and have to start from scratch every time.
